Surprise!

Time flies. It's been a while since I last wrote, but it feels like yesterday. We had a busy weekend. Friday we did some grocery shopping and then drove up to Auguston to see if we could find the house our friends just moved into. We ended up visiting with them for a bit and got the tour of their new home. Saturday, I don't remember much other than trying to nap in the afternoon. Then we headed over to Tom's parents for dinner and also headed to our friends place for games and appies. Sunday we went to church and then I slept all afternoon (after being awake from 3 am to 6am). I felt much better after that and then we headed over to my parents for a BBQ. As we walked around the back yard to the patio everyone (Mom, Dad, Mark, Kim, Daryl, and Teresa) all broke out in a round of "Happy Birthday". It was a surprise party for me and Kim! You have to understand that our birthdays are not in July, but in December. For the last several years, my mom and I have been doing a little birthday celebration in June as a 1/2 birthday because December gets so busy and the birthday usually ends up mixed in with Christmas. So, we had the works, birthday cake, dinner, balloons, gifts... It was a fun night! Thanks everyone.

Final Report

I had my last real ultrasound this week (my doctor does them all the time, but he's not a technician). I was eager to find out how BIG this baby is and also if my placenta has moved anymore. At my other ultrasounds they didn't have a screen for me to watch as they preformed the exam, but this time I got to watch the whole thing. It looks like the placenta has moved to 2.2 cm from my cervix which is a bit more than the last exam showed. Being that I have about 7 weeks left, it could move a bit more yet. So, it looks like I'll be able to try a natural delivery after all :o) The tech also said that the baby is about 4.3 lbs which is right on for average. Yeah!!! I wasn't looking forward to birthing a big baby. So, now we just have to wait a little longer until D day arrives and start getting all those little baby things ready to be used again.
